Wonder and Hope

Many kind friends have asked how things are going with our adoption and would like to know where we are in the process.

We have sent our USCIS ( immigration) application, birth and marriage certificates, and approved Home Study in to be processed.  This is where we will be given permission to bring an orphan into the United States.  Once they have processed our paperwork, we will recieve an invitation/appointment to get more fingerprinting done.  This is the last step of our paperchase!!!  Once we receive immigration approval, we will get that and a few other remaining documents apostilled and then send them all over to Edik's country.  They will then be translated and submitted to his government.

We are hopeful that Edik's paperwork will be ready when our dossier is complete.  We were originally told that his paperwork would not be ready until early Summer, but have since be told that it could be ready earlier.  Our facilitation team will wait to submit our dossier until they are sure that our Edik's paperwork is ready as well.

Please pray with us that our baby boy's paperwork will be done quickly and correctly.

We have his picture on the wall and when I see it during the day I get lonely for him.  I wonder how much he has grown and worry about his health.  Does he have medical issues that we don't know about?  His big brother likes to push a little stool over to Edik's picture on the wall and give his baby brother kisses.  His older sisters wonder about getting to hold him and cuddle him.  His daddy sits up with me late at night talking about what we need to do next to get him home.  We plan and we wonder.

It is a good thing to wonder.  I think wonder is a form of hope, and that is one thing that we can do during this whole process.  We can HOPE.

  1. I love that: "Wonder is a form of hope." Definitely!

I love seeing your tally over at the right hand side. I know there's still a little ways to go, but WOW has it come far!! That's wonderful!

I'm glad you have his picture up, too.
